Andrew's Bio

Hair has three Aspects: Cut, Color, and Styling, Andrew was trained in all three.

He started his cutting career at Vidal Sassoon. He assisted the "King of Color" Louis Licari, where his eye for color was perfected. He also has styled the fashion collections at 7th on 6th as well as their London academy, and shot extensively with Sam McKnight for Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and others.

After leaving the main stream salon scene he started his own salon in the heart of the West Village, on Bleecker Street. Here he met Sam McKnight, the fashion stylist guru. He assisted Sam extensively working with top models in photo sessions as well as on NYC's runways for fashion week year after year.

Looking toward the future, he rented his first commercial space in the Il-Malkage Makeup Studio. Here, Andrew and Catherine Murphy put heads together to create the signature brand of makeup called FaceStation.

8 months later, he bought his current space at 855 Lexington Ave. Ditching the name DiSimone Studio For Hair, FaceStation Salon and Makeup School was born. Facestation quickly became known for great hair from talented people who care and great makeup classes.

Not long after that, he created the present day experience called FaceStation. It's amazing makeovers have been seen on Ambush, Faking It, and Inside Edition. Here the upper east side meets its match in a down to earth setting, with a mix of soothing warm tones and its non pretentious clients. With just one visit, we will give you face something to smile about.
